Nominate an Alumni for the Diploma of Distinction
Wanted Diploma of Distinction Nominations!
Annually the Independence High School Alumni Association awards the “Alumni of Distinction” to a graduate of Independence High School. The award is presented at the June Quarterly meeting (the second Monday of June,) in the High School Multimedia Center. Any current member of the Alumni Association may submit a nomination. The nomination criteria is intentionally very “open” as excellence comes in diverse careers, life, service and other measures of contribution. We request a narrative description of “excellence” that places the nominee above all others. Nominations should include the graduate’s full name (maiden & married if appropriate), graduation year and a narrative of why this person is the most deserving graduate you know.
The cutoff for nominations is April 21, but submissions after that date will be considered for the following year.
The award recipient will be chosen at an Alumni Association Board meeting no later than the second week of May.
